Stainless steel silos for food solids

Custom food storage

Manufacture of a set of indoor silos in 304L stainless steel for food solids. The project called for combining capacity, hygiene, conical bottom discharge and structural calculation, while keeping the build consistent across units and integrating them safely into the production line.

Client requirements

The client needed to bring in four silos for wheat semolina that would increase storage capacity without disturbing the safety, the cleanliness or the working order of a food plant already up and running. Each silo had to be built in 304L stainless steel, with a 2B finish, a total capacity of 34.75 m³ and a geometry suited to the way a food solid behaves. As they were going indoors, the challenge was not just to build them well, but to protect surfaces, control dimensions and coordinate the assembly so the units would fit without compromising access or plant operations.

Our solution

We built a consistent set of 4 silos, with care over geometry, welds, finishes and protection during transport to allow an orderly integration into the client’s installation.

  • Manufacture of 3 silos of 31 m³ in 304L stainless steel for storing wheat semolina.
  • Geometry with a 60º conical bottom and Klopper head to aid discharge and functionality.
  • Design to Eurocode 1-4, with a pressure of 50/-5 mbar and atmospheric operation.
  • Equipment intended for indoor installation, with dimensions and finishes adapted to the production environment.
