Tanks for a pulp mill
Critical assembly at a pulp mill
Manufacture, transport and assembly of 8 stainless steel storage tanks for a pulp mill, with capacities of up to 500 m³ and one key challenge: solving the assembly and the lifting on a site with very little space

Client requirements
The client needed to add 8 process storage tanks at a pulp mill, with different capacities, materials and dimensions. The equipment had to be built in AISI 304L and 316L stainless steel, with capacities between 25 m³ and 500 m³, diameters from 2,500 mm to 10,000 mm and a design pressure of 50 / -5 mbar. The main difficulty was the limited space, which ruled out conventional vertical assembly inside the plant.

Our solution
We planned phased manufacturing, with partial prefabrication, outdoor assembly and a critical lift to the final location.
- Manufacture of 8 tanks in AISI 304L and 316L stainless steel to the applicable structural standards.
- Capacities between 25 m³ and 500 m³, with diameters from 2,500 mm to 10,000 mm and a pressure of 50 / -5 mbar.
- Partial prefabrication and outdoor assembly to get around the lack of space available in the plant.
- Critical lift with high-capacity cranes to the final position, protecting structural integrity.
